I’d say Tokyo Ghoul is a fairly good anime all up, but the manga is a masterpiece that I’d highly recommend! If you do plan on watching the show, definitely read the manga as you will need it to understand Tokyo Ghoul:re (the sequel) as root a (season 2) isn’t canon and is an anime original ending.
